01

Depression & Mood

For low mood that has outlasted the circumstances that caused it, and for mood that swings further than it should.

Treatment begins with a full evaluation of sleep, appetite, energy, thyroid and medication history, because low mood has more than one cause. From there the plan may combine an antidepressant, supportive psychotherapy and supplement guidance. When two medication trials have not moved the needle, a TMS referral is a next step rather than a last resort.

Often looks like

  • Waking early and dreading the day
  • Losing interest in things that used to matter
  • Fatigue that sleep does not fix
  • Thoughts that you are a burden
02

Anxiety, Panic & OCD

Generalized anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety and obsessive-compulsive patterns, treated together rather than in isolation.

Anxiety is the most common reason people call, and often the most treatable. We separate what is situational from what is biological, then work on both: medication to bring the baseline down, and CBT and somatic work to change the response. OCD is treated with the higher medication doses the condition actually requires, alongside exposure-based work at a pace you set.

Often looks like

  • Racing thoughts you cannot switch off
  • Chest tightness or shortness of breath
  • Avoiding places where panic has happened
  • Rituals or checking that take over the day
03

ADHD & Autism

Assessment and ongoing treatment for adults and seniors, including those diagnosed late or never diagnosed at all.

A proper ADHD evaluation looks at childhood history, current function and the conditions that mimic it, anxiety and sleep deprivation among them. Treatment may include stimulant or non-stimulant medication with regular monitoring, plus practical work on systems and follow-through. For autistic patients the focus is on support for co-occurring anxiety, sleep and burnout without pathologizing how you are wired.

Often looks like

  • Starting well and finishing nothing
  • Time blindness and chronic lateness
  • Sensory overload in ordinary settings
  • Being called lazy your whole life
04

Addiction & Substance Use

Alcohol, cannabis, stimulants, opioids and prescription dependence, treated without judgment and without ultimatums.

Substance use rarely arrives alone. We treat what sits underneath it, whether that is trauma, ADHD, pain or anxiety, and we treat the use itself. That can include medication-assisted treatment, relapse-prevention work and coordination with higher levels of care when you need them. Progress is measured in function, not in perfect abstinence from day one.

Often looks like

  • Drinking or using more than you planned to
  • Needing more for the same effect
  • Using to manage sleep, pain or panic
  • Hiding how much it has become
05

PTSD & Night Terrors

For trauma that still shows up in the body, in sleep and in the reflexes, long after the event is over.

Trauma work here is paced and somatic before it is verbal. We start by stabilizing sleep and the startle response, because nothing else is workable while you are exhausted and on alert. Nightmares and night terrors have specific medication options that are often overlooked. Psychodynamic and somatic approaches then address the story and the nervous system together.

Often looks like

  • Nightmares or waking in terror
  • Flashbacks triggered by sound or smell
  • Numbness and feeling outside your body
  • Scanning every room you walk into
06

Eating Disorders & Body Relationship

Restriction, bingeing, purging and the quieter forms of disordered eating that never got a name.

Care coordinates the psychiatric side of eating disorders with medical monitoring and, where appropriate, a dietitian and therapist. We treat the anxiety, depression and OCD traits that so often drive the behavior, and we work on the relationship with the body rather than only on the numbers. Referral to a higher level of care is made openly when that is what safety requires.

Often looks like

  • Rules and rituals around food
  • Eating in secret or to numb out
  • Body checking and mirror avoidance
  • Exercise that feels compulsory
07

Sleep, Insomnia, or Parasomnias

Trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or doing things in your sleep you do not remember.

Sleep is treated as a condition in its own right, not a symptom to be medicated away. The evaluation covers schedule, substances, screen and light exposure, breathing and the medications you already take. Treatment leans on behavioral work and sleep restructuring first, with medication used deliberately and for a defined period. Parasomnias such as sleepwalking and night terrors get their own targeted approach.

  • Lying awake for hours despite exhaustion
  • Waking at 3am every night
  • Sleepwalking, talking or acting out dreams
  • Needing something to fall asleep at all
08

PMDD & Pregnancy Care

Cyclical mood changes, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and psychiatric care through pregnancy and postpartum.

As a dually certified psychiatric and family nurse practitioner, I treat the hormonal and psychiatric sides of this together. PMDD is tracked across cycles before it is treated, then managed with cycle-timed or continuous medication. In pregnancy and postpartum the work is a frank conversation about the risks of treating and of not treating, with a plan built in coordination with your OB.

  • Two predictable weeks a month of despair or rage
  • Feeling like a different person before a period
  • Anxiety or intrusive thoughts after birth
  • Being told to just wait it out
09

Elderly, Geriatric, & Later-Life Transitions

Depression, anxiety, grief and cognitive change in later life, treated with attention to everything else you take.

Older adults are routinely under-treated for depression and over-medicated for agitation. My family practice background matters here: we review every medication for interactions and for the ones that cloud thinking, screen for the medical causes of mood change, and treat with the lowest effective dose. Grief, retirement, loss of independence and caregiver exhaustion are treated as the real clinical issues they are.

Often looks like

  • Withdrawing from people and activities
  • New confusion, forgetfulness or agitation
  • Grief that has not softened with time
  • A medication list nobody has reviewed in years
10

Phobias & Fears

Specific fears that have quietly reorganized your life around avoiding them.

Phobias respond well and often quickly to structured exposure work paired, where useful, with short-term medication for the anticipatory anxiety. Flying, driving, needles, dentists, heights, vomiting, enclosed spaces. The plan is built in graded steps you agree to in advance, so nothing happens before you are ready for it.

Often looks like

  • Planning your life around one avoidance
  • Panic at the thought, not just the thing
  • Missing work, care or travel because of it
  • Knowing it is irrational and dreading it anyway
11

Military & Veterans Support

Care for service members, veterans and their families, from deployment stress to reintegration.

This is care that starts from the assumption that you have already been assessed, labeled and passed along more than once. We address combat and non-combat trauma, sleep, chronic pain interaction, moral injury and the specific difficulty of civilian reintegration. Where the VA is already involved, care is coordinated rather than duplicated.

Often looks like

  • Hypervigilance that never stood down
  • Sleep wrecked since deployment
  • Anger that arrives faster than it used to
  • Feeling unreachable to the people at home
12

Sexual Abuse, Domestic Violence, and Human Trafficking

Trauma-informed psychiatric care for survivors, at whatever stage of leaving or recovery you are in.

You set the pace and you decide what gets discussed. Sessions prioritize safety, sleep and the physiological symptoms first, because stabilization has to come before processing. Care is coordinated with advocates, legal support and shelter services when you want that, and never disclosed without your consent beyond what the law requires.

Often looks like

  • Startling at touch or raised voices
  • Blaming yourself for what happened
  • Dissociating during ordinary conversations
  • Still not safe, and not sure what to do
13

Chronic Illness & Pain Guidance

For the depression, anxiety and exhaustion that come with living in a body that hurts or will not cooperate.

Chronic pain, autoimmune disease, long COVID, cancer treatment and diabetes all carry a psychiatric load that is frequently dismissed as secondary. It is not. My family practice training means the plan accounts for your other conditions and medications rather than treating mood in a vacuum, and it means a straight conversation about what medication can and cannot do for pain.

Often looks like

  • Being told the symptoms are in your head
  • Grieving the person you were before
  • Sleep broken by pain every night
  • Appointments that never address the mood
14

Bipolar & Schizophrenia

Long-term management of bipolar disorder and psychotic spectrum conditions, aimed at stability you can live with.

The goal is a regimen that holds through the seasons and one you are willing to keep taking. That means honest attention to side effects, weight, sedation and blood monitoring rather than dose increases by default. Mood charting and early-warning planning are part of the work, so a shift is caught in the first week rather than the fourth. Family can be included when you want them there.

Often looks like

  • Weeks of little sleep and enormous plans
  • Crashes that follow the highs
  • Hearing or believing things others do not
  • Stopping medication once you feel well

Not on the list?

A diagnosis is not a requirement

Plenty of people arrive without a label, knowing only that something is off. Burnout, grief, a medication that stopped working, a second opinion on an old diagnosis. Bring it to the free call and we will find the right starting point together.

Second opinions

A fresh review of a diagnosis or a medication list you are unsure about.

Medication reviews

For patients stable on treatment who need ongoing management and refills.

Grief and loss

Support through bereavement, divorce and the end of a chapter.

Burnout and stress

For the high-functioning adult running on empty and out of reserves.

How these are treated

Services combined for you

Whatever brought you here, the plan is built from these services, weighted to your history, your body and your preferences.

Pharmacogenomic testing to see how your body is likely to process a medication before you try it.

Supplements

Evidence-informed guidance on what helps, what interacts and what is not worth your money.
